Pricing

Published rates. No retainer, no hourly, no surprises.

Most investigative firms make you call for a quote. We publish the list. Every search below is a flat rate against a defined scope, and if we don't find anything, most searches drop to a no-hit rate — or cost you nothing at all. Rates are set by what the underlying data costs to license and maintain, and recurring volume moves down a sliding scale.

  • Flat rates, published
  • No-hit pricing
  • No retainer required
  • No hourly billing on searches
  • Volume terms available

What "no-hit pricing" means

On financial searches, you pay the full rate only when we find something. If the search comes back empty, you pay the no-hit rate instead — typically $40 to $85, and $0 on policy limits searches. You still receive the full report documenting what was searched and where, which is what supports a diligence showing or a decision to stop spending on a file.

Asset searches

ServicePriceTurnaroundNotes
Asset Search$3507 daysReal property, vehicles, entities, liens, judgments

Conducted from licensed, aggregated, and electronically available records. Live county-level retrieval and state agency public records requests are not included in the base rate — specify them at intake and they are quoted separately, on the agency's response timeline rather than ours. Multi-jurisdiction and multi-entity matters are also quoted after intake. Live records and PRR work.

On background checks

Our background checks are investigative work product, not consumer reports. They may not be used to make hiring, credit, insurance, or housing decisions — those require a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. If that's what you need, tell us and we'll refer you.

Why the rates are what they are

These prices are set by data cost and maintenance — not by what undercuts the next vendor.

Good investigative data is not free and does not stay good on its own. Licensed sources carry real per-search cost. Proprietary local material has to be acquired, indexed, corrected, and maintained continuously — records get amended, parcels get resplit, entities get renamed, and an index nobody maintains is worth less every year it sits. Our rates reflect what it actually costs to keep that material current, plus the investigator time to reconcile it.

You get what you pay for. A $39 "instant bank search" is a recycled aggregator record that may be years stale, returned with no verification and no source. It costs less because it is worth less — and on a garnishment, a wrong institution costs you far more than the search saved. We would rather charge $325 and be right.

That is also why our no-hit rates exist. When a search genuinely produces nothing, you shouldn't pay the full data cost — but the search still consumed real sourcing, so it isn't free either. The no-hit rate is that line, and we publish it rather than argue it after the fact.

Billing terms

  • Flat rate against a defined scope. The price you're quoted at intake is the price on the invoice.
  • No retainer on published-rate searches for established business clients.
  • No hourly billing on any search on this page. Hourly applies only to field work quoted per matter.
  • No-hit rates apply where shown. You still receive the full report.
  • Rush handling is available on most searches — ask at intake.
  • Sliding-scale volume pricing on recurring and bulk work — the per-file rate falls as sustained volume rises.
  • Files are destroyed 30 days after delivery unless extended retention is arranged. You keep your own copies; if you may need testimony later, say so when you open the assignment.
  • Turnaround is typical, not guaranteed, and depends on jurisdiction and record availability. Any exception is flagged before you authorize.

Rates current as of August 10, 2026 and subject to change. The rate confirmed in your written scope governs that engagement.
